What’s the first image that comes to mind when you picture the Walt Disney World® Resort? If you are like most people, you said Cinderella Castle. And along with that image comes the happy thoughts of all the other princesses; Belle, Ariel, Aurora, Snow White – you get the idea. Lots of colorful, flowing dresses, tiaras, elegantly gloved hands waving as you pass by, and smiles so big you have to shield your eyes. That’s all fine and dandy, but sometimes I’m not in the mood for that. I want VILLAINS!
Ever since I was a child, I loved the Disney Villains. No, I’m not an evil person, nor am I ever out to hurt anyone or cause them discomfort, but think about it - without the villains, would there really be a great ending to a Disney movie? I don’t think so. And because of this, when I go to Walt Disney World, I want villains! So, if you happen to feel the way I do, here are some places you can catch them.
Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party. This is probably THE best opportunity to revel in all the villain glory. And why wouldn’t it be? Halloween is made for this kind of thing! During the event-exclusive Boo to You Parade, nearly every float is dedicated to the slightly-darker side of Disney. You’ll see all your favorites: Ursula, Jafar, The Red Queen, Maleficent. The list goes on and on. And they are dancing! It doesn’t get much better than that. And when you are done with the parade, head over to the Villain Mix and Mingle. Watch classic villains entertain you on the stage in front of the castle, and stick around, because you just might get to meet your favorite!
Another great opportunity is the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror 10-Miler Weekend! Well, most people run away from villains, so isn’t it fitting? The 10-mile course takes you through Disney’s Hollywood Studios® (and more), in the dark, haunted by villains! Who thought of this? I want to shake their hand! And if the haunted trail isn’t fun enough, after the race you get to party with the villains at the Disney Villains Hollywood Bash. It’s a fun night with good company, DJ’s, dancing and exclusive access to your favorite rides and villains.
Many people flock to Fantasmic! to see Sorcerer Mickey on top of the mountain, but don’t forget, this show is all about a journey through Mickey’s dreams, and eventually his nightmares. I won’t spoil the experience for you, but if you are a fan of villains, you will not be disappointed. The show is located in a special theater inside Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Be sure to arrive early, or take advantage of the Fantasmic! Dinner package, where you can dine at one of three delicious restaurants and received special seating for the show.
Don’t be afraid to stand up and say, “I love Villains!” After all, they are the ones you don’t want on your bad side.
