I love when someone tells me they have been to Disney World a kazillion times and ask what can they do that’s different? They love the theme parks and the water parks and Downtown Disney which is why they go back so often. They’ve done the Richard Petty Experience, Cirque du Soleil, ridden the tethered hot air balloon, seen every show, met every character, and watched every parade.
Here is what I suggest…HOTEL HOP!! With 26 resorts, each with a different theme, you could spend a whole week just going from one hotel to the other, sitting in the lobbies, people watching, taking to time to really soak up the theming in each hotel.
The Wilderness Lodge even has a hidden Mickey scavenger hunt – you get it from the front desk – and you don’t have to be a guest of the hotel to participate.
I have a friend whose husband was getting tired of the Disney trips. They were going twice a year and he didn’t much like rides, didn’t like pools, and was just going along to humor her and last December was going to be the LAST TIME!! So I put together a hotel hopping itinerary for them. They always stay in the same ALL STAR complex. She is also a pin collector so she was very excited over the fact she would be collecting Christmas pins from each resort.
He begrudgingly accompanied her each morning to her park of choice and then they grabbed a bus to the first resort on the daily list. She got her pin, he gawked at the themed Christmas decorations, they sat in the lobby for a bit, and headed for the next one. And the next one, and the next one. They visited every resort during that week.
She got all her pins but more importantly, he was so impressed with the detail, the construction, the decorations, that now he cannot wait to go back.
Marlene Patrick has been fascinated by all things Disney as far back as she can remember. She has visited the Florida resort almost seventy times, has cruised on Disney ships four times, enjoyed Disneyland seven times, and Disneyland Paris once. She now applies her extensive knowledge of Disney Destinations to creating magical vacations for her clients as a Travel Planner with Glass Slipper Concierge.

Are these people responsible adults? Jeez….
